I am happy, but I am not always sure I have earned the life I am in. GERARD BUTLER may have shown too much of his soppy side while dating model MADALINA GHENEA.

The Scots actor has split from the Romanian beauty just weeks after she declared she goes for “bad boys”.

Gerard and Madalina got together a year ago after she broke up with LEONARDO DiCAPRIO.

But they have now called it quits, despite Gerard telling an interviewer only last month that he wanted to settle down.

When asked yesterday if he was in a relationship, he admitted: “Not right now, no.”

His split with Madalina comes after she confessed: “I’m attracted to bad boys – even if he has a reputation that would scare even the most powerful woman in the world.”

But Gerard isn’t so fond of a bad girl.

On the promotion trail for his latest movie, action thriller Olympus Has Fallen, he revealed: “I like partners who have a special sense of humour and are confident, sweet and honest.

“At some point I do want to settle down. I plan to have a family one day – my siblings are both married.”
