Gerard Butler accepted an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on March 24th 2010.
Gerard Butler was greeted by a roaring crowd of Gerard Butler fans in the audience.
The interview touched on a broad range of subjects. The first subject was other famous Gerard Butlers, such as the soul singer and porn star. Jimmy joked that it would be nice to have the porn star on the show to.
Jimmy questioned whether it is good practice to promote two movies at the same time? Gerard Butler wasn't sure, but said it is hardwork. Gerard Butler revealed that in the last 3 weeks, he has doing about 50-60 interviews a day.
Jimmy noted that Gerard Butler has been traveling around the world to promote his movies. He then queried whether there are any countries that aren't worth visiting? Jimmy suggested Germany as a joke. Although the audience found that remark funny, Gerard Butler was smart not to neglect his German fans by saying that he likes Germany, in fact he recently won a Man of the Year Award from GQ Germany. Gerard Butler was very careful in his response because he values all his fans from around the world. He mentioned he will soon return to Paris, Berlin and Madrid to promote How to Train your dragon .
Jimmy Kimmel then asked
Gerard Butler to reveal more
about his restrictive diet. Gerard Butler mentioned that he went on a 16 days cleanse, and restricted himself to 500 calories a day. This involved measuring all his food portions with scales.
For breakfast, he would have half a grapefruit and had to complete an intensive training program every day. Gerard Butler joked it was all rather depressing.
Jimmy then presented the audience with a picture of Gerard Butler eating a McDonalds. This had the audience in hysterical laughter. Jimmy then presented the audience with a picture of Gerard Butler with his leg up in the air, in front of the LA Lakers Cheerleaders (See picture above). Gerard butler explained that after the LA Lakers game, all the LA Lakers girls lined up to see him. He joked that he was one of the new cheerleaders and tried to do a kick and pulled his groin in the process.
Jimmy then moved onto the topic of rejection.
Gerard Butler revealed that he gets less attention now that he has a beard. He then spoke about his the girls who broke his heart when he was 15-16. Gerry screamed "Carol-Ann Nicole Clinton - bi*ch!" in a sudden outburst as he relived one of his childhood crushes.
He added, "She flirted outrageously with me... always pretending that we were boyfriend/girlfriend, until I made my huge attraction to her clear - at which point she said, 'I'm not the slightest bit interested,' and it killed me."
Gerard Butler then continued "This girl, Julie Morrison..., was the one you'd end up round the back of the bike sheds with... I'll never forget her walking up the stairs... and I said something to her and then I gave her a long, lingering look... and she looked at me and gave me these come-to-bed eyes."
Other heartbreakers that were mentioned were Caroline McLaughlin and Tracy Turner.
The closing subject was his latest movie How to train your dragon . Jimmy said the film looks great, and joked if it's much harder to do voice over in 3d?
The interview was very entertaining for the audience.
However Gerard Butler realized that he was wrong to name-check his teenage crushes on US TV. Gerard Butler personally apologized to the women in concern by insisting that his comments were just for fun.
In an interview, Julie Morrison quoted:
"I have known Gerry for 30 years and we are great pals. We will be great pals for another 30 years. What he said was typical
Gerry - he is just a fun, mischievous, cheeky chappy kind of guy... What he said has been misconstrued. He was making lighthearted comments to amuse an audience. None of it was meant to be taken seriously. I know Gerry has been shocked by how people have painted him out to be a bad guy and he got his lawyers involved. I keep in touch with him but I was surprised to get the call out of the blue. He just told me what I knew - that it was a bit of fun...I had never even heard of the show let alone seen it so I was really surprised by this. I have people phoning me up to see if I'm OK about it but it was just a good laugh. I am not in the least offended... It was hysterical and I'm not taking anything to heart." Gerard Butler's school pal on how Hollywood star phoned to grovel after branding her a flirt on TV
Mar 28 2010 Exclusive by Stephen Stewart, Sunday Mail
A STUNNED mum yesterday told how Hollywood star Gerard Butler phoned her to apologise after he branded her a teenage temptress on a US chatshow.
The actor called old classmate Julie Morrison after telling millions of viewers that she was "someone you'd end up behind the bike sheds with".
Yesterday, mum-of-one Julie, 40, of Nitshill, Glasgow, broke her silence to laugh offthe claims that sparked an internet frenzy and to reveal the truth about her friendship with 300 star Butler.
Julie was stunned after hearing what Butler had said during an interview on America's Jimmy Kimmel show last week.
But she said it was just the type of cheeky remark she would expect from him.
We can reveal that Butler called Julie on Thursday afternoon to apologise.
Nanny Julie, 40, said: "I just want to say for the record - that the bike sheds were at the front of the school.
"I have known Gerry for 30 years and we are great pals.
"We will be great pals for another 30 years.
"What he said was typical Gerry - he is just a fun, mischievious, cheeky chappy kind of guy."
During the interview Butler, 40, recalled how Julie and fellow classmates Tracey Turner and Carol Anne McLaughlin were the first sweethearts to dump him as a 16-year-old at Paisley's St Mirin's and St Margaret's School.
He even joked that McLaughlin was "a bitch" for snubbing his advances.
But serial romancer Butler, most recently linked to Bounty Hunter co-star Jennifer Aniston, said: "Julie Morrison was the worst.
"She was someone you'd end up round the back of the bike sheds with. Julie was the birds and the bees.
"Actually, I didn't have sex with Julie Morrison now I come to think about it.
"But I'll never forget her running up the stairs and I said, 'You'll pay for that', and gave her a long lingering look.
"She looked at me and gave me come-tobed eyes and I thought, 'That's what you do, I get it now'.
"And I've been doing it ever since." Speaking at her home, Julie who has an eight-month-old daughter, said: "What he said has been misconstrued.
"He was making lighthearted comments to amuse an audience.
"None of it was meant to be taken seriously.
"I know Gerry has been shocked by how people have painted him out to be a bad guy and he has got his lawyers involved.
"I keep in touch with him but I was surprised to get the call out of the blue. He St Mirin's and St Margaret's High School just told me what I knew - that it was a bit of fun.
"I had never even heard of the show let alone seen it so I was really surprised by this.
"I have people phoning me up to see if I'm OK about it but it was just a good laugh.
"I am not in the least offended. I am still in contact with Gerry after all these years - not every week as he is a busy guy but still quite often.
"My partner has been great about it - he just had a good laugh.
"This is just what Gerry is like - he has a cheeky side and gets away with things.
"He was always very driven and charismatic and it comes as no real surprise that he is now famous.
"It was hysterical and I am not taking anything to heart."
Internet sites around the world picked up on the girls' names as fans of Butler desperately tried to find out more about his first loves.
Julie's sister-in-law Karen, who lives in the same street, said: "Julie just can't believe the storm this has caused.
"He realised he made a mistake by what he said on the TV show because he phoned Julie to say it was only meant as a joke and a bit of banter.
"They are friends so he certainly didn't mean anything by it.
"He thought it was just a quick joke - a spur-of-the-moment thing during the interview.
"It didn't make Julie look very good and of course she was pretty stunned by what he said.
"As far as she's concerned, she just wants the whole thing to blow over."
Julie was a pupil with Butler at St Mirin's until 1986 before working with Lunn Poly travel agents in Glasgow and Britannia Airways until 2005.
The other women named by Butler were also stunned by their unexpected fame on US TV.
Tracey, 40, now a married mum in Glasgow, said: "I was very good friends with Gerry at school but that's as far as it went.
"We certainly weren't boyfriend and girlfriend,
he was just a mate - sorry if he thought it was anything more.
"Gerry was a great guy at school, really good fun and always up for a laugh.
"He lived near my bus stop so he would always walk us from school.
"He loved drama but I don't remember him having an eye for the girls back then.
"Maybe I was a bit naive about his intentions but I really just saw him as a good friend.
"I was amazed when he mentioned us all on TV but I thought he was a bit nasty about Julie - I think he went a bit far and she would be pretty upset by that."
During the show, aired on US network ABC last week, Butler claimed Carol Anne had also broken his heart.
Asked by Kimmel if he had ever been shunned by a woman, Butler held his head in his hands as he said: "When I was 15 or 16, I actually fell in love a couple of times at high school.
"She flirted outrageously with me, holding my hand, smiling and always pretending we were boyfriend and girlfriend.
"I made my huge attraction to her very clear - at which point she said, 'I'm not in the slightest bit interested', and it killed me."
At her home in Newton Mearns, Glasgow, Carol Anne, 40, who was head girl at St Mirin's when Butler was head boy, said: "It's no big deal to me but it clearly still is to him, despite all these years.
"He was very cocky and loved himself - that seems to be the way he is now."
FANS ROW OVER WHAT THE BUTLER DID
Butler's playground confessions set the internet ablaze yesterday.
Bloggers on the Just Jared site were split over his decision to name his school crushes.
One poster called Dallas said: "I cannot believe that he mentioned several girls from high school by name but especially that one, Julie Morrison. He described her as the girl you would go behind the bike sheds with to learn the birds and bees from."
She added: "He was so wrapped up in his story. Yowza. Butler, please quit talking. If I were Julie I would punch him. Hard."
Another said: "Will the women sue him for using their names - some of Gerry's conquests should come forward."
And Anon Annoy posted: "So that's why he's psycho."
Holly said: "They probably are made-up names. But even if not, he was saying how they put him down... it probably puffs up their egos. Bragging rights, 'I turned him down in high school you know'."
Пару слов в своё оправдание. Я, как девушка, наивная, неискушённая в иностранческом иносказании, конечно же ничего не могла понять во фразе "She was someone you'd end up round the back of the bike sheds with. Julie was the birds and the bees." Какие-то навесы на задней части велосипеда, птицы и пчёлы..... А переспрашивать на главной было стыдно.
