Gerard Butler is NOT engaged to girlfriend Morgan Brown, despite a new tabloid report falsely claiming he “popped the question.” Gossip Cop can correct this inaccurate story, which can be found in the pages of Star.
According to the magazine, Butler “is the latest Hollywood playboy to ditch the bachelor lifestyle and settle down.” “Gerry is crazy about Morgan,” a so-called “close source” tells Star, apparently thinking calling Butler “Gerry” will add credibility to the claims. The alleged “source” explains, “He knew from the beginning that she was different from his past girlfriends.”
So, what evidence does Star have that Butler and Brown are engaged? The tabloid writes, “The ex-model was photographed showing off her sparkly new accessory while out in Malibu on March 1,” and includes a photo of Brown’s supposed engagement bling, exclaiming, “Check out her ring!”
Except it’s NOT an engagement ring, and Butler and Brown are NOT engaged. A rep for the actor denies the Star story is true. Of course, Star is the same outlet that once wrongly alleged Butler and friend Leonardo DiCaprio were feuding over a woman, and that Butler and Jessica Biel were getting romantic off-camera. Not surprisingly, the tabloid’s sources haven’t gotten better over time.
